UK: Clashes erupt at White Pride Worldwide Day rally in Manchester

Clashes erupted between white pride activists and counter-protesters during a 'White Pride Worldwide Day' rally in central Manchester, Saturday, forcing the police to make a number of arrests.

Carrying white power flags and chanting white pride slogans, scuffles quickly broke out between the white pride activists and counter-protesters. Footage shows one white pride activist chasing a black man before being punched to the ground by a counter-protester.

Organised by the National Front, the rally was heavily policed after it was advertised on the English Defence League's (EDL) facebook and twitter account. Police attempted to separate the rival protesting groups and at least two arrests were made over the course of the day.

Manchester City Council have condemned the rally.
