
France: Marine Le Pen hails "remarkable" Front National "success"
The head of the Front National (FN) Marine Le Pen called results of the first round of departmental elections a "remarkable success" at a conference in Melun, Tuesday.
According to the FN leader, the party has gained an additional 430,000 votes and repeated the result of the European elections.
UMP came out on the top during the first elections, followed by Front National in second place and the Socialist Party coming in at third.
