      Germany: Podemos, Syriza and Europe will overcome austerity - Blockupy told

      "Syriza and Podemos will overcome" but "they need the other European people to stand up," Podemos regional leader Miguel Urban Crespo said as he spoke to thousands of people at the 'Blockupy' protest in Frankfurt, Wednesday. Blockupy is an anti-capitalist protest that was organised at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the European Central Bank.

      Urban Crespo, who is Member of the European Parliament for the Spanish party in the European Parliament, also said that he has nothing against the Germans, "but everything against Merkel."

      The ECB (European Central Bank) opened its €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion) new headquarters in the city on Wednesday. An estimated 350 people were arrested in protests during the morning, where several police cars were put on fire.
