      Iraq: Coalition airstrikes pound Islamic State targets

      The U.S. Department of Defense released footage on Monday, showing the moment that airstrikes were launched against the Islamic State near Kirkuk on March 9.

      The strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, in a bid to prevent the IS from operating in the area.

      Coalition nations which have conducted airstrikes include Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, Netherlands, United Kingdom and U.S
