Spain: Drone captures Europe's BIGGEST spaghetti-western studio
Europe’s biggest ‘spaghetti-western' style film studios was captured via drone footage in the southern Spanish province of Almeria, earlier in March.
The unique footage of ‘Fort Bravo’ features saloons, a central bank, hotels and gallows while a number of high-profile blockbusters including western classics such as Sergio Leone’s ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ and the biopic ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ were filmed in the locale.
In 1977 stuntman Rafa Molina bought the set for $6,000 ( €5,656) and soon began charging visitors for tours and treating them to mock shoot-outs and bar room brawls. The facilities are still used for both television and film productions and recently provided the backdrop for an episode of the ‘Dr. Who’ TV series.
