
USA: Kerry confirms sanctions on "Yanukovych associates"
An additional "round of sanctions with respect to Ukraine" have been implemented, US Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed in Washington on Thursday. Kerry revealed the sanctions target associates of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych as well as a number of entities including a bank.
The new list includes former Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergei Arbuzov and former Ukrainian deputy Prime Minister Raisa Bohatyryova. The Russian National Commercial Bank (RNCK) operating in Crimea is also among the sanctioned, as well as Sergei Abisov, the former Minister of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, and Ekaterina Gubareva, the former Foreign Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.
