Russia: Putin pledges continued govt support for the Yamal LNG plant
The government will continue to help finance the Yamal Liquefied Natural Gas Plant project despite budget cuts, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in Moscow Tuesday.
Speaking at a meeting with the Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, Dmitri Kobylkin, Putin said that that the funding will come from the state budget and the Russian National Wealth Fund. Some 30 percent of the construction work has already been completed, with large vertical storage tanks about to be installed.
Kobylkin also informed Putin of a number of other large-scale projects including the Samotlor-Purpe-Zapolyarnoye oil pipeline, which are running according to plan.
