Spain: See WIRELESS phone-charging furniture at WMC 2015
Wireless Power Consortium showed off its Qi technology to charge phones wirelessly on furniture at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday.
Swedish furniture company IKEA will include in-built Qi wireless device chargers into a variety of household objects including lamps and bedside tables. The user places their phone over the Qi integrated furniture which uses an electromagnetic field to charge the phone.
Google Nexus, HTC, Samsung and Microsoft phones already contain the Qi technology compatible with the furniture’s wireless chargers.
