Russia: Communists carry ‘rockets for Obama’ on Defender of the Fatherland day
Hundreds of Russian Communists took to Moscow's city centre, Monday to mark the Defender of the Fatherland public holiday.
Activists handed out red flags and portraits of Soviet leaders. The procession started at Pushkin Square and made its way to Revolution Square where a public meeting was held.
Speaking to reporters, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov called the army 'the main instrument' of politics. The Party’s First Secretary of the Moscow Committee Valeriy Rashkin had the idea to carry a dummy rocket with an inscription reading "For the attention of Obama (Rashkin)."
