Germany: "Ukraine needs to feel safe from its neighbour" - Fabius
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius spoke on the Ukraine conflict at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, stating how he percieves the position of both Russia and Ukraine.
Fabius stated the biggest factor for Ukraine is the need to "feel safe from military threats from its neighbour," which he said was a 'perfectly legitimate request.' He added that Russia's "stated objective" is the 'decentralisation or autonomy of east Ukraine.'
Besides Ukraine, the Iranian nuclear program and Syria were among the concerns addressed in Munich. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry were among the officials present at the conference.
