Switzerland: Ban Ki-moon urges world leaders to address climate change
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged world leaders to understand the need to make "the house where we are living" economically sustainable at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on Friday.
Speaking during the 'Tackling Climate, Development and Growth' session, the Secretary-General continued that "some national leaders" do not pay much "attention to the climate change aspect" of their national economic development policies which must be "comprehensively addressed."
Thousands of delegates from more than 100 countries have descended on the ski resort to spend four days discussing global economy and politics at the 45th annual WEF. Investment infrastructure, oil prices and the increasing risk of climate change are on the agenda. This year's conference runs Jan. 21-24.
