USA: Meet the BEER PONG robot! A frat boy's nemesis or BFF?
Empire Robotics unveiled their ball-slinging robot Versaball, a device that is almost unbeatable at beer pong, during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The robot can pick up balls and launch them accurately by creating a vacuum around the ball, sucking the air out to gather the object, and releasing it by re-inflating the object. The Versaball's technical ability to handle delicate objects with precision is expected to be used in general day-to-day tasks such as changing light bulbs in future.
CES is an annual electronics and technology trade fair showcasing consumer electronics and technology from global producers since 1967. Based at the Las Vegas Convention Centre since 1998, the show has been the first to present multiple seminal products, including the video cassette recorder, compact disc player, as well as tablets and android devices. This year's conference will run until January 9.
