
Russia: 'Economy will bounce back, 2 yrs in worst-case scenario' - Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country's economy will bounce back from its current problems, taking about two years in the worst-case scenario. He made the comments during his tenth annual major news press conference at Moscow's World Trade Centre, Thursday.
Putin said that "if the situation evolves unpleasantly, we must correct our plans. Without a doubt we will need to cut something."
During the several-hours-long annual presser, the Russian president answers uncensored questions from journalists, and reflects on the outgoing year. A total of 1,259 journalists from 18 countries have been accredited, among them reporters from Japan, the United States, Iran, Germany, France, Romania, Belarus, Sweden, Israel, China, Denmark, Spain, Abkhazia, Poland, Azerbaijan, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
