Mexico: See protesters set fire to Santander as they clash with police
Police clashed with protesters as they started fires and smashed windows in shops, banks and other establishments in Mexico City on Monday night following a rally for 43 missing students and against Mexican President Pena Nieto.
Earlier on Monday evening, thousands of protesters gathered at the Angel of Independence holding signs reading "A president, not a tyrant. A country not a morgue" and chanted "Pena out." One speaker who addressed the rally said that Nieto would never be accepted as a "part of the Ayotzinapa movement."
Forty-three students from Ayotzinapa went missing on September 26 after being detained by police in Iguala, a town in the state of Guerrero. Thousands have protested since, calling for justice and the safe return of the missing students.
