      France: "France and Europe are Washington's puppets," Russian offical tells Le Pen

      Vice-Speaker of the Russian State Duma Andrei Isaev criticised the current leadership of France and Germany for being puppets of Washington and following the will of the US in Lyon, Saturday.

      Speaking at the opening of Marine Le Pen's Front National party conference in Lyon, Isaev called leaders of both European states inferior to former titans of European policy in the past.

      He also spoke about the crisis in Ukraine, saying it is being manipulated to pressure Russia into supporting the "unipolar" world system. Isaev further stressed sanctions imposed on Russia are disadvantageous to both Russia and Europe, saying they serve the interests Washington alone.

      National Front party members gathered in Lyon on Saturday for the start of their two-day party conference.
