
Russia: Watch Carlsen defeat Anand during World Chess Champs in Sochi
Norwegian chess whizz Magnus Carlsen has retained his World Chess Championship title, defeating India’s 5-time World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand during Round 11 of the match in Sochi on Sunday.
Both Grandmasters were neck-to-neck for three hours during the final, but Carlsen took a decisive lead in the 11th game after a bold but unsuccessful move from Anand, with the final score ending 6.5 - 4.5.
The 23-year-old Norwegian, known as the "Mozart of Chess", took away a 1 million euros ( USD $1.2-million) prize for the victory. The 2014 World Chess Championship Match ran from November 7-28.
