
USA: 911 Carrera GTS may be poshest Porsche yet
Porsche unveiled its new 911 Carrera GTS on Wednesday, showcasing the sports vehicle at the LA Auto Show in Los Angeles in an event that also featured race car driver and "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey.
Boasting a 3.8-litre engine and 424 horsepower, the 911 Carrera GTS can reach a top speed of 189 miles per hour (304 kilometres per hour) and can go from 0-62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometres per hour) in 4.4 seconds (or 4.0 seconds with a PDK double-clutch gearbox). The rear-wheel drive vehicle also averages between 20.6 miles per gallon (8.76 kilometres per litre) and 37.7 miles per gallon (16.02 kilometres per litre) of fuel economy.
The manual transmission version of the 911 Carrera GTS starts at $115,195 (€91,761), while the automatic version will cost $120,035 (€95,681).
