Clashes broke our between football fans outside the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn Sportpark in Berlin, Saturday. Supporters of BFC Dynamo and 1. FC Magdeburg jostled with each other and traded insults as police tried to separate the two groups. Some BFC Dynamo fans later moved on to Alexanderplatz train station where they waved flags and chanted slogans on the platform before leaving.
Both teams were formed in the German Democratic Republic and some BFC Dynamo fans still use the hammer and compass symbol from that era. Around 5,000 spectators attended the match, which was won 1-0 by 1. FC Magdeburg. The game's only goal was scored by Christian Beck in the 44th minute.
