
China: Lavrov urges Kiev to follow ceasefire agreement

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry met on Saturday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit taking place in Beijing, China to discuss the resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue and the Ukrainian crisis.
Speaking on the Ukrainian crisis, Lavrov emphasised that the path to peace in Ukraine lies in the successful implementation of the Geneva Agreement reached on April 17.
Referring to a recent shelling on a sports field in Donetsk, which resulted in the deaths of two schoolboys, he called for Ukrainian leaders to fulfil their obligations and observe the immediate ceasefire and truce conditions as set out in the 12-point Minsk Protocol of September 5.
