USA: Firefighters are feeling the BURN at this blaze-busting race
Firefighters from across the world competed in “full bunker gear” and respirator masks at the Scott Firefighter Combat 'World Challenge XXIII' in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday.
Competitors completed an obstacle course comprising time challenges like climbing a 41-foot (12 metres) tower, and carrying a 175 lbs (79 kg) dummy. Preliminary time trials will run through Friday, with the fastest times going head-to-head in Saturday's finals.
This year's competition drew firefighters from across the United States, Canada, and from as far away as New Zealand, Portugal, Poland, France and Germany.
