Russia: Communists march in memory of '93 White House victims
Communists commemorated those who were killed in the 1993 shooting at the White House in Moscow on Saturday.
Participants marched down Druzhinnikovskaya street holding portraits of the dead. A Russian Orthodox funeral service also took place.
On October 4, 1993 the escalating tensions between the president at the time Boris Yeltsin and the Russian parliament erupted when tanks fired at the White House in Moscow leading to hundreds of deaths. The violent events came after Yeltsin decided in late September to dissolve the country's legislature, but the parliament declared the decision void and impeached him.
