      UK: Yes voters jubilant, despite defeat seemingly looming

      Hundreds of Scots gathered in Glasgow's George Square Friday morning. The campaigners danced and played music together, while the votes of the Scottish independence referendum were being counted.

      Polls closed and the Scottish independence referendum vote count for the Glasgow region began at 22.00 local time (21.00 GMT) Thursday at Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

      The national result is due to be declared after all of the 32 counts have been completed. Final results are expected to be announced between 06:30 and 07:30 local time Friday (0530 and 0630 GMT).
