President Poroshenko's ceasefire announcement was greeted with scepticism by some among anti-Kiev militia in Peski, Donetsk region, on Wednesday.

A Vostok battalion commander known as 'Scorpion' said he is suspicious of the pronouncement because Ukrainian troops continue their shelling and are regrouping.

Petro Poroshenko made the announcement after a telephone call with Vladimir Putin about the first steps to be taken to end the bloodshed in east Ukraine.

The press service of Ukrainian President announced a mutual understanding had been reached regarding the steps that will lead to peace.
