
Turkey: See aftermath of attack on Syrian restaurant in Istanbul
Scores of locals took to the streets of Istanbul on Sunday night to protest over the presence of Syrian refugees in the country. Debris could be seen strewn across restaurant Aleppo, after it came under attack by the group of protesters.
Further protests took place in Istanbul on Monday, with residents clashing with police in the Ikitelli district.
Tensions have been high between Turkish locals and Syrian refugees in the past weeks. According to the United Nations, 822,149 refugees have fled war-torn Syria to seek shelter in Turkey, with some 217,259 living in camps and 604,869 living outside camps.
