      After the police shooting of Michael Brown and the subsequent tensions in the town of Ferguson, Minister Akbar Muhammad of the Nation of Islam (NOI) gave a speech Tuesday in St. Louis, accusing the police officer who shot the victim of being intoxicated during the shooting.

      The minister condemned the shooting of the unarmed victim, heavily criticising the police's handling of the investigation, which officials have stated will take up to two weeks. After stating that the officer had been intoxicated during the killing, Minister Akbar Muhammad called for the name of the police officer to be released.

      Eighteen-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer Saturday in Ferguson. Brown was allegedly unarmed at the time of the daylight shooting. While the identity of the officer remains unknown, with police refusing to release the officer's name, witnesses say he was white.
