
Turkey: Anti-terror units arrest corruption investigators
Dozens of anti-corruption police officers were rounded up and arrested during night-time raids in Istanbul early Tuesday morning. The raids were conducted by an Istanbul police anti-terrorism unit and all the arrested suspects were brought to Haseki Education and Research Hospital for a health check.
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency the anti-terrorism police searched up to 200 venues in Istanbul. Other police officers were arrested elsewhere in the country. Several of those detained are reported to have been involved in a corruption investigation targeting former Turkish government ministers.
