India: Meet the town of mud wrestling bouncers
Ripped gym-goers from the twin towns of Asola and Fatehpur trained for the traditional Indian style of mud-wrestling, Kushti, on Monday, before heading to New Delhi for their evening job as bouncers.
Their love for the sport has provided them with a health-conscious attitude, according to locals. One Kushti wrestler and bouncer at a pub, Ravinder Tanvar, said that nobody in the villages had developed a habit for smoking, drinking, or chewing tabacco.
Some of the locals dream of becoming professional wrestlers who may one day represent the Indian national team at the Olympics. A trainer, Vijay, said that the men try first winning medals in national competitions, and will then be placed as bouncers through his company if they are unsuccessful.
