Ukraine: 'Novorossiya is our name' declares Gubarev
A convention held in Shakhter Plaza Hotel in Donetsk on Saturday gathered representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, along with delegates from Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson.
Representatives declared the formation of the government of Novorossiya, uniting the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. "Novorossiya is our name," declared Pavel Gubarev, leader of the 'Novorossiya' movement, in a speech at the event. Participants also passed a decision on the initiation of a social-political union called the 'United people's Front'.
One hundred and forty five delegates took part in the event, including former presidential candidate Oleg Tsarev. Head of the Supreme Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, and Lugansk People’s Republic leader Valery Bolotov were also in attendance.
Nikolaev's anti-Kiev leader Yury Barbashev spoke at the event, accusing the United States and the European Union of supporting Nazism in Ukraine.
