At least one person was reportedly injured in a blast resulting in fire engulfing apartments on two floors at a residential block in central Moscow. The injured is a confirmed US embassy employee who was sent to the nearest hospital via Emergency Ministry helicopter.
Initial reports say that witnesses heard a loud explosion that shattered windows and brought down the ceiling between the third and fourth floors of a building on Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
Fire-fighters managed to contain the blaze before it spread further than the fourth floor of the eight-storey building.
