      Belgium: OSCE to send 1,000 observers to Ukrainian elections

      OSCE Chairman-in-Office Didier Burkhalter spoke to the press briefly during a recess in the EU foreign ministers formal monthly meeting in Brussels, Monday. He spoke of the upcoming Kiev elections, saying that the organisation will run "one of the biggest observation mission for the elections in the history of the organisation with 1,000 persons."

      Ukraine dominated the discussion among the European foreign ministers, with the OSCE calling for the largest observation mission in the history of the organisation to take place on May 25 during Ukraine's presidential elections. The OSCE is set to send 1,000 observers.
