      Netherlands: Obama threatens sectoral sanctions against Russia

      US President Barack Obama discussed potential sanctions against entire sectors of the Russian economy during the closing press conference of the third Nuclear Security Summit, in the Hague on Tuesday.

      Obama said that, "should Russia go further" such sanctions "would be appropriate," potentially affecting whole sectors of the Russia economy including energy, finance, and arms sales.

      He added that the US is examining the impact these sanctions might have at a "very technical level."
