Russia: Putin urges Customs Union nations to help Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian Minister of Industry, Viktor Khristenko, held a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Novo-Ogaryovo on Wednesday.
The three presidents discussed integration, and the functioning of both the Customs Union and Common Economic Space, as well as the situation in Ukraine. Putin called on the Customs Union nations to help Ukraine out of its present crisis.
They also discussed the progress of drafting an agreement to establish the Eurasian Economic Union from January 1, 2015, and the possibility of drafting an agreement on Armenia’s accession to the future union.
