Egypt: Uprising celebrated, but security high following bombings
Thousands took to the streets of Cairo Saturday, amid rallies called for by both supporters of the military-established government and those loyal to ousted-President Mohamed Morsi, to celebrate the third anniversary of toppling the Mubarak government in 2011.
Security has been increased at key state facilities for the anniversary, including at government buildings, police stations and prisons. People taking part the activities are are being searched by military personnel before entering key sites.
Cairo was targeted by four bomb blasts on Friday, which reportedly killed six and injured 80. Two bomb blasts occurred on Saturday - one near a police academy, the other in the Hadaeq al-Quba district of Cairo.
