France: Geneva II best chance of negotiating peace in Syria - Kerry

US Secretary of State John Kerry said that there is no military solution to the Syrian conflict during a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart Khalid al-Atiyah at the US Ambassador’s Residence in Paris, Sunday. Kerry stressed the need for a diplomatic resolution to the problem, calling for a Geneva II conference.

The press conference followed on from a meeting between the US secretary of state and representatives of the Arab League after Kerry's recent visit to the Palestinian territories, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
