Russia: Volgograd's youngest victims regain consciousness
3-month-old baby girl, Vika Tolkunova and the 9 year-old girl Olga Ivanenko have both gained consciousness and were safely transferred to Moscow's Republican Children's Clinical Hospital on Wednesday after being seriously injured in Monday's Volgograd bomb attack.
Vika and Olga were transported from Volgograd via An-74 jet provided by the Federal Biomedical Agency in the early afternoon and landed in Ramenskoye airport in Moscow region at around 16:00 local time. During the flight, Olga was accompanied by her mother who was injured in the blast. Vika's mother and grandmother were killed in the explosion, that left the baby in a coma with a head injury.
The girls were approved for transportation after their condition was assessed as 'stable serious with a positive dynamic'.
