Russia: Pussy Riot members Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova reunited

Pussy Riot members Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova met at the Krasnoyarsk airport on Tuesday. Pussy riot members hugged and shook hands in front fo the media and family members. They were released from jail on Monday.

Speaking ot the press, Tolokonnikova said that their release was "miserable and cynical action" and "makes no impression".

When asked by journalist if she would agree to stay longer in the colony if it was possible, Maria Alyokhina replied, "Yes, the matter is all procedures like putting people to jail, transporting and release are held not due to person’s own will – they make a sack out of one to put it, throw from one zone to another, from a zone to a prison and then release due to somebody’s will. I was searching for some legal papers which allow to refuse the amnesty, but unfortunately it is an order layed on an institution. And I am just a figure to be freed".

The women were serving two-year terms for hooliganism, and were pardoned after an amnesty law decreed by President Putin was passed by the Russian Parliament.
