Ukraine: Tea, stew and dance the arms to battle winter's bite

Protesters in Kiev's Independence Square continued their fight despite freezing temperatures in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday. Demonstrators gathered round fires while chatting and reading newspapers, while others cooked stew and prepared tea.

Protesters clapped their hands and danced in a battle to defeat the cruel cold of winter, with popular rock band Okean Elzy playing on stage.

Temperatures in Kiev currently stand at -2 degrees Celsius. However, forecasters warn it could drop as low as -7 degrees on Sunday morning.
