      Latvia: Chance of finding roof collapse survivors “almost zero"

      Latvia: Chance of finding roof collapse survivors "almost zero"

      Rescue workers searching for survivors after the collapse of the Maxima supermarket in Riga on Thursday have ceased on Saturday. They are set to resume the search on Sunday morning.

      The announcement came during a press conference where authorities said they need to find a technical solution to continue the search safely, as the roof continued to collapse again some hours ago.

      Press secretary of Ministry of Interior, Ilze Petersone-Godmane added that the possibility of finding people alive "is almost zero."
