Pakistan: Christian bomb-blast victims buried in Peshawar
Members of Pakistan's Christian community arrived at a special compound near a Christian graveyard in Peshawar, Sunday, to await the arrival of corpses from a deadly bomb blast at a church earlier in the day. So far, 40 of the bodies have been buried, as the community awaits all 78 bodies before holding funeral prayers. Of the 78 dead, 34 were women and 7 were children. Federal and provincial governments have announced that they will pay half a million rupees to each family of the deceased.
Two suicide bombers reportedly blew themselves up in a crowded bazaar near the entrance of the church in Peshawar when worshippers were leaving Sunday Mass. Around 600 people are believed to have been at the church at the time of the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
