Germany: Nearly nude protesters bare breasts and bottoms for unitary tax
Scantily-clad protesters calling for a European Union-wide unitary tax marked the start of the G20 Leaders' Summit on Thursday by staging a semi-nude rally in front of the German Chancellery in Berlin.
Chanting their demands, the protesters from ATTAC (Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and Aid to Citizens) say that many corporations are able to hide millions of Euros through tax evasion.
The German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) estimates that tens of millions of Euros are lost through tax evasion each year. The unitary tax that ATTAC is lobbying for would require companies to report earnings of all branches of their company throughout the world.
ATTAC says it would like to see a model for such a unitary tax, such as the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB), improved and quickly put into practice for all companies within the European Union.
Germany's nude movement known as Free Body Culture (FKK) was also involved in organising the protest.
