      Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" three-act opera closed the 230th season of the Mariinsky-II Theatre in St. Petersburg on Sunday.

      The world-famous Mariinsky-II saw 11 premiers in the season just gone, including "Faust", "Don Quixote" and "Don Carlos". The new season commences on September 8.

      The Mariinsky-II opened in May 2013. Construction on the 2,000-seater venue took around 10 years and cost roughly €500 million ($667 million).
