Russia: Snowden's lawyer presents permit to stay in Russia

Anatoly Kucherena, Edward Snowden’s lawyer in Russia, presented the NSA leakers official documentation that allows him to stay in Russia to the press on Thursday. The document ends months of speculation as to where Snowden was going to end up, following his asylum request to numerous countries.

Snowden has been in the transit area of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport since arriving on a flight from Hong Kong in June. He is wanted by the US on charges of treason, among others, and may face the death penalty if brought before a US court.
