Russia: More that 1,000 evacuated after Moscow TV centre fire

Over 1,000 people were evacuated from Moscow's Ostankino TV centre after a fire broke out on Tuesday. The building, which accommodates the offices of national broadcaster OTR, has been left partially damaged.

The fire spread over 25 sq metres (270 sq ft), although emergency officials have stated that no one was hurt. In the meantime, the broadcaster has switched to a reserve channel.
