Egypt: Pro- and anti-Morsi protesters turn ire on Obama
Supporters and opponents of former President Mohammed Morsi may be opposed to one another, but both groupings have shown their opposition to the Obama administration, accusing it of supporting the other side and stirring up tension in Egypt.
Protesters took to the streets of Cairo Wednesday with placards and banners directed at both President Barack Obama and the US Ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson. The pro-Morsi demonstrators are accusing the American president of supporting what they perceive to be a military coup of a democratically elected president. Anti-Morsi protesters meanwhile have taken issue with what they see as strong ties between the Obama administration and the Muslim Brotherhood.
