Shanghai-based artist Shu Huifen used a special fire technique to recreate 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains' in soot, considered to be among the greatest works of Chinese artist Huang Gongwang.
"The most difficult part about painting with fire is to control the size of the flame. Fire is uncontrollable, but you want to control it to burn out the shape you want," said artist Shu Huifen who was using steel wool in her fiery paintings.
A similar project for her graduation used a candle flame, which gave her much less control over her creation.
A video of Shu recreating the iconic painting was met by praise by users on Bilibili, a video sharing website based in Shanghai.
