Argentinian artist Sergio Diaz presented in Salta on Thursday miniature paintings he had painted on banknotes devalued by inflation.
"They had practically no value, they could be exchanged for two candies, or one, so I began to intervene in them as a way of preserving their disappearance," said artist Sergio Diaz.
In his studio, one could see banknotes from different countries that depicted portraits of well-known fictional or non-fictional figures from pop culture, such as Han Solo, Princess Leia or the football player Lionel Messi. Sergio Diaz himself was seen painting new paintings on banknotes, such as on US dollars or pesos.
"Currently my works cost around 100, to approximately 150 USD, it also depends a lot on what is going to be painted," said Sergio Diaz.
