USA: Trump's Thanksgiving call to troops turns political
US President Donald Trump interspersed Thanksgiving cheer with politics while offering gratitude to military service personnel from his Mar-a-Lago resort on Thursday.
He emphasised the importance of securing the southern border and continued his feud with the judiciary.
"You probably see over the news what's happening on our southern border and our southern border territory," Trump told one Air Force brigadier general stationed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
"I don't have to even ask you I know what you want to do," he continued. "You want to make sure that you know who we're letting in."
The president then turned his attention to 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals, which he described as "a big thorn in our side."
"It's a terrible thing when judges take over your protected services, when they tell you how to protect your borders. It's a disgrace," he added.
