
UN: Global 'duty' to protect 250 million migrants - Brazilian president
Brazilian President Michel Temer said it was a global "duty" to protect 250 million migrants all over the world, in his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Temer added that "Brazil has welcomed all migrants who have arrived in our territory. We are talking about tens of thousands of Venezuelan nationals to whom we have sought to provide all assistance."
Representatives of all 193 UN members states are gathered for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly meeting, which will take place between September 25 and October 1.
