
Israel: Thousands pay their respects to Shimon Peres at the Knesset
Members of the public arrived at the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, in Jerusalem on Thursday, to pay their respects to former President Shimon Peres, whose casket is on public display ahead of his funeral on Friday.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein laid wreaths at the casket.
Peres died at the age of 93 early Wednesday morning, after being hospitalised for a stroke on Tuesday, September 13.
