USA: Chaos ensues as 'blood-soaked' US flag BURNS outside RNC
Clashes erupted among protesters and police when a dozen activists attempted to burn a US flag in front of the venue hosting the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Wednesday.
Protesters built a human circle, holding each other's arms while one activist set the American flag on fire in the middle of it, with hundreds of law personnel on site guarding the venue. Several police officers made their way through the crowd and extinguished the fire.
Tension mounted as police were trying to push the crowds away and disperse the protesters. Most of the activists were given an ultimatum to leave the protest after clashing with officers. The action was reportedly organised by activist Joey Johnson among others, under the motto "we will burn the blood-soaked imperialist rag" and "America was never great."
Some activists were reportedly arrested and two police officers received minor injuries.
